From the Hoke County Utilities Department, we would like to extend an apology to our Hoke County citizens that experienced any water issues over the past couple of days. We have determined that a Fire Hydrant has been tampered with during the late evening hours. This has caused the situation to escalate for the last several days resulting in customers experiencing discoloration in their water. This was not a County-wide issue - it only occurred in the Wedgefield Subdivision. We would like to assure everyone that the Hoke County Water Supply is safe for the utilization of drinking water and bathing, etc.
Our water is treated and tested daily by our water treatment staff per the NC DEQ regulations. If you happen to experience any problems just let your water run for approximately a couple of minutes before using. If you are still experiencing problems please do not hesitate to contact the Hoke County water Department at 910-875-6704.
